UL-listed panels for the US market<\/h1>\n\t\t\t\t\t

If the machine is to be sold in the USA or Canada, it is the panel that decides whether it may be put into operation. We design and build to UL 508A from the first revision \u2014 so component selection, labelling and documentation do not have to be redone once the panel is standing on the quay.<\/p>\n\t\t

UL requirements belong in the drawings, not in the panel afterwards<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

The difference between a European and an American panel is not how well it is built. It is which components are allowed in it, how much space there must be between them, what the labels say, and which documentation comes with it. If this is only discovered once the panel is assembled, the fix is a rebuild \u2014 not a drawing change.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

That is why we build the UL requirements into the design from the first revision. Components are selected within what UL 508A permits, spacing and layout are drawn to the standard in 3D before a single rail is cut, and labelling and documentation are produced in English from the start. You approve the drawing package before production begins, as with all our other panels.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t

The panel is built and tested in our own workshop to the approved package. Changes made in the workshop are written back into the drawing package as new revisions, so the as-built documentation matches the panel that is shipped \u2014 terminal by terminal. That is the set your customer and their inspector need to be able to work from.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/div>\n

Four things UL 508A decides in the panel<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

These are the four that projects typically stumble over. They are linked: a component selection changes the spacing, and the spacing changes the enclosure.<\/p>\n\t\t

Component selection<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Components must be approved for use in a UL panel. Our component selection is free and independent, so we can choose within what the standard permits without tying you to one supplier's catalogue.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/a>\n\n

Labelling<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Labelling of components, terminals and cables is produced in English to the agreed standard from the first revision. It is also what your customer's technician needs to be able to read when troubleshooting.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/a>\n\n

Spacing and layout<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t

The requirements for spacing and separation decide the size of the enclosure. We draw the layout in 3D and have it approved before production begins, so space problems are found in the model.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/a>\n\n

Documentation<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Wiring diagrams, terminal lists, cable lists, bills of materials and as-built documentation. This set is what the panel is judged on \u2014 and what is used every time the plant is serviced or extended.<\/p>\n\t\t\n<\/a>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n<\/section>\n
